Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog

This course builds on fundamental obedience training, with emphasis on developing those skills necessary to pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine (CGCA). Basic behaviors including sit, down, stay, and come on command will be addressed, as well social behaviors such as accepting strangers, handling and grooming by strangers, walking through a crowd, and controlled reaction to other dogs.  Upon completion of the course, dogs and handlers will be prepared to take the AKC CGC exam administer by BCKC.

Trick Dog

Typically once a month, the BCKC will offer a class that is dedicated to learning new tricks. This class often falls on a Saturday and is will have a group of tricks that can be used to pass AKC’s Trick Dog tests. Many of our the class instructors are CGC evaluators and can test your dog for all levels of AKC’s Trick Dog. Please make prior arrangements to this class if you would like for your dog to be tested for one of the Trick Dog levels.
