Class registration
The next 7-week session of obedience classes, rally classes, and specialty classes begins the in March 2026. Payment and registration can be completed online at the link below. Please note that the link is valid for the upcoming session in November only, as registration for current classes is closed. Any registration that is made after the current class session starts will be apart of the session that starts the in March 2026.
If registering by phone or email, please complete a copy of the obedience class registration form and bring it to the first day of class. Proof of vaccinations and payment are also due on the first day of class. See the BCKC calendar for upcoming class schedules. If you are not registering online, please contact the appropriate club member listed below.
Please bring proof of vaccines on the first day of class.
Please arrive for the first class about 10 minutes minutes early.

Course descriptions
Conformation Classes
The BCKC offers all-breed conformation classes to club members and nonmembers within our community. All handler levels are welcomed! Classes are offered on a “drop-in” basis and payment is accepted online or in person. As one of the only AKC all-breed clubs in Western PA, we are proud to offer consistent conformation training to the area’s handlers all year long. Our training room has a non-slip floor and is heated and air-conditioned. Instructors can be found on the calendar. If classes are not offered on a certain week, it will be listed on our calendar. Our instructors are club members and successful handlers themselves!
The obedience classes at BCKC are open to all dogs, both purebred and mixed breeds, and are offered throughout the year in seven-week sessions. We have appropriate levels of class deepening on your dog’s ability to perform the task that will be worked on. Each obedience course is part of a comprehensive training program, designed to progress from puppyhood and beyond!

The rally obedience class at BCKC provides fun and exciting obedience training for handlers and dogs of all levels. Although Rally Obedience is a competitive sport, our rally classes at BCKC are appropriate for those who want to compete as well as those who simply want to continue building the canine-owner bond without competing. Fundamentals I is a prerequisite for each of these courses. Our classes are designed to set you up for success when you step into the rally ring!

Throughout the year, the BCKC will offer specialty classes. Canine Good Citizen is a course where you will learn the 10 behaviors that your dog must exhibit to earn their CGC title. Our Trick Dog class is typically offered once a month. Fundamentals I is a prerequisite for these courses. Please reach out to Barb Landfried to see when one of these classes will be offered next!

Junior Dog Club
The newest addition to the BCKC schedule of classes is for junior handlers aged 8 to 18 years old. It is designed to provide basic training in a variety of dog sports, including pet manners, conformation, beginning agility, and rally obedience. This is a perfect class for children who have welcomed or will welcome their very first dog into their family, or those familiar with dog ownership who simply want to strengthen the connection with their pet.
